Dune - Frank Herbert I've read this several times, have the audiobook, seen the movies. Dune was the single most influential piece of fiction I've ever read. From the messianic story, to the political and religious commentary, intrigue, plots within plots, Bene Gesserit, and space travel. There are 1000s of reviews of Dune floating around in cyberspace, not to mention its influence on Sci-fi culture, books, movies, even research and development, so really, what more could I say?
